About the Honorary Consulate

The Government of Slovak Republic in Tanzania will be represented by its Honorary Consul - Moustafa Khataw. The mission of the consulate is to support the development of commercial, economic and cultural ties between the two countries.

The Honorary Consul is a seasoned businessman and will provide impetus to the growth of economic ties between the Slovak Republic and the United Republic of Tanzania.

About Slovak Republic


A landlocked country of central Europe, Slovakia is roughly coextensive with the historic region of Slovakia, the easternmost of the two territories that from 1918 to 1992 constituted Czechoslovakia. It is bordered by Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east, Hungary to the south, Austria to the southwest, and the Czech Republic to the northwest.

Slovakia's territory spans about 49,000 square kilometres (19,000 sq mi). The capital being Bratislava which is also the largest city whilst Košice is the second-largest city. The official language is Slovak.

The Western Carpathian Mountains dominate the topography of Slovakia. The mean annual temperature drops to about 25 °F (−4 °C) in the High Tatras and rises to just above 50 °F (10 °C) in the Danubian lowlands.
